Bald Eagle in a Tree-Square Necklace
by Colorado Artists Barb and Tom Adkins

I love the Eagles!
I love the larger Walnut square that surrounds the Eagle. I can't decide which I like better the Aspen Leaf or the Square.

This is hand cut and then sculpted from one piece of 1/4" thick Black walnut. It has a front and back to the eagle with relief cut away to show the Eagle actually sitting on a branch.

The tree branches are fully rounded to be 3 Dimensional. If you prefer the Eagle can also be more fully dimensional.

The necklace has been carefully hand cut with a scroll saw. Each section is cut separately by stopping the saw and taking the saw blade out of the saw and inserting the blade into a new area of the wood. A tiny hole must be drilled into that individual section of the wood first, then the blade can be inserted into that hole to start the cutting of that area or section of the piece. After all the cutting is done each area must have all the edges carefully hand sanded and rounded for you to wear it.

The findings and chain are 18kt Gold Plated.

I paint the Eagle's feathers to show the distinctive white head and tail.
Media: Walnut & Acrylic, The findings and chain are 14/20kt Gold Filleded
