Serenity Eagle
By Evergreen, Colorado Artists Barb and Tom Adkins

This Eagle serenely sat about 50 ft. above our heads while we visited Home Lake in Monte Vista,CO. What a thrill!

Our story with the Eagles in Colorado started on the 1st day of our new lives here in Colorado.
As we drove on 470 around the Denver Metro, in separate cars filled with some of our stuff, we both saw, not 1 but 2 Bald Eagles, sitting innocently in the same tree along the highway. When we arrived at our new house in Evergreen, we both asked is the other had seen the Eagles in the Tree. We commented that it was our 1st real day to live here! How cool! It was January 1st too. That just put the crown on the way to start our new life in Colorado. We felt like they were welcoming us here.

We love the Bald Eagles!

I love the larger Walnut square that surrounds the Eagle. I can't decide which I like better the Aspen Leaf or the Square.

This is hand cut and then sculpted from one piece of 1/4" thick Black walnut. It has a front and back to the eagle with relief cut away to show the Eagle actually sitting on a branch.

The tree branches are fully rounded to be 3 Dimensional. If you prefer the Eagle can also be more fully dimensional.

The necklace has been carefully hand cut with a scroll saw. Each section is cut separately by stopping the saw and taking the saw blade out of the saw and inserting the blade into a new area of the wood. A tiny hole must be drilled into that individual section of the wood first, then the blade can be inserted into that hole to start the cutting of that area or section of the piece. After all the cutting is done each area must have all the edges carefully hand sanded and rounded for you to wear it.

The findings and chain are 14/20KT Gold Filled.

I paint the Eagle's feathers to show the distinctive white head and tail.

These are hand cut sculptures out of solid Black Walnut. Each is a relief with each bird has a defined wing and is defined from the branch it sits on. Each branch has to be individually cut and rounded smooth. There is a front and back to each bird.
